The tour includes several archaeological sites, including Mohra Maradu, a former monastery popular with monks in the 3rd and 5th centuries, which Sir John Marshall discovered in the early 20th-century excavate. A Buddhist shrine, the monastery was once a place of meditation.
Khanpur Taxila Excursion Tour is a day tour from Islamabad with an experienced driver driving a private vehicle. We will visit Khanpur Dam which is 18 kilometers away from Taxila, the land of oranges. Khanpur Dam is a popular tourist destination with stunning views, boating facilities, and a variety of delicious fresh fish. Also, we will provide all tickets in this tour package.
We will take you to the Taxila Museum, where we will show you the gilded bronze teeth of Buddha. Found only in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka recently returned a relic of Buddha to Pakistan. There you will enjoy tea and light snacks. Then, if anyone is interested, we will take you to the resort in Kanpur for lunch and water activities. It has Pakistan’s first water park at Mabali Island. We will then visit the newly discovered ruins of Bhamala the first of its kind in the history of Buddhist civilization in Pakistan. After a quiet place worth seeing, we headed home.

Taxila Museum
For over 1000 years (600 B.C to 500 A.D) Taxila remained a focal point of education and Buddhism in the days of Buddhist glory. There are over 50 archeological sites scattered over a radius of 30 K.M around Taxila. Some of the most important sites are Dharmarajika Stupa and Monastery (300 B.C – 200 A.D), Bhir Mound (600-200B.C), Sirkap (200-600A.D) and famous Buddhist University of Julian. A museum comprising sections with rich archeological funds of Taxila arranged in chronological order and property labeled has been established close to these sites. It is one of the most well maintained site museum of Pakistan.
Khanpur Dam
Khanpur Dam is a dam located on the Haro River in Khanpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa about 50 km from Islamabad. It forms Khanpur Lake, a reservoir which supplies drinking water to Islamabad and Rawalpindi and irrigation water to many of the agricultural and industrial areas surrounding the cities.
